DECEMBER OPEN MIC!  MONDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2007

Sign-up at 7:30pm , start singing at 8pm

Come sing at the Warehouse Theater! Admission is a suggested donation for the pianist and to cover the rental fee: $15 for non-members, $12 for paid up members of the DC Cabaret Network.

The Warehouse Theater is located at 1021 7th Street, NW , across from the new Convention Center.

Everyone is welcome. Our Open Mic Nights are a great opportunity to try out new stuff, take out an old friend, or just hone your skills in a friendly and supportive environment.

Visit www.warehousetheater.com for directions and more info about the space.

Sing “Joy to the World” that the splendiferous Alex Tang will accompany singers on the piano.

The always delightful Michael Miyazaki and Ron Squeri will host this event filled with Holiday Fun!

See you there!

PS, A note on admission and the Warehouse Theater:

We are modestly increasing the suggested donation for the Open Mic.  The Warehouse Theater, because of a gargantuan increase in their property taxes, has had to make some changes in their business operations, which include closing the restaurant/bar and charging a small fee for using their space.

For over three years, the Ruperts at the Warehouse Theater have graciously opened their doors to us FOR FREE.  We are tremendously grateful.

JOE PECK PERFORMS AT INDIGO “THAT’S THE WAY I REMEMBER IT” ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 1 AT 9PM

Baritone/Tenor vocalist Joe Peck has appeared on stage in productions at The Kennedy Center, Ford’s Theatre, Open Circle Theatre, Theatre Lab, Signature Theatre, Olney Theatre, and The Washington Savoyards, among others. Joe works on camera in commercials, industrials and independent films, and he performs regularly in voiceovers as a narrator as well as providing character voices. After college, he pursued a successful career in government and government affairs before returning to the stage and performing full-time in the last several years. It is this breadth of experience - on and off the stage - that uniquely informs his performances. Joe has appeared in cabaret performances at DC venues as diverse as Mimi's American Bistro, Mr. Henry's Capitol Hill, Maggie's Cabaret at St. Margaret's, and the Capitol Hill Arts Workshop. His vocal training includes work at MTSU and with Wayne Kemp Vocal Studios. You can find him online at www.joepeck.net.

Joe Peck says: DCCN Members Joe Peck and Alex Tang will reprise the popular show "That's the Way I Remember It" on December 1 as part of the Indigo Cabaret Series at the Atlas Performing Arts Center. This show is an incredibly fun time-warp of memories and melodies so funny it'll make you cry and so heartwarming it'll make you laugh. You will not want to miss a chance to hear such an eclectic collection of favorites -- standards, pop, R&B, folk, jazz, musical theatre, and - yes - a little country to boot. With this show there's a surprise around every corner. Info at http://www.joepeck.net. Tickets at http://www.atlasarts.org or 202-399-7993.

POLICY REGARDING SUMBISSION OF NOTICES

The DC Cabaret Network's bi-monthly newsletter moved to a once-a-month schedule in May 2007. The newsletter will be sent out on the 1st of each month.  The deadline for all submissions will be the 25th of the prior month - no exceptions.  If you miss the deadline, your entry will have to wait until the following month for inclusion. Thanks to all of you for your support and understanding.  Please send your info to DCCabaretNetwork@hotmail.com

POLICIES REGARDING INCLUSION OF NOTICES

The DC Cabaret Network is a small organization run on a 100% volunteer basis.  We do the best we can with the resources and information we have. It is our policy to include, to the best of our ability, all cabaret related notices of our paid up members. Submission, however, does not guarantee inclusion in the newsletter. Although we always do the best we can to include the cabaret-related notices of paid-up members, realities such as mis-delivered email or the timing of submissions may affect what gets published in a particular edition. Your music-related submissions must be made to:

dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com

We reserve the right to edit, and determine the inclusion of, all submissions. It is the responsibility of the person submitting the information to proof read the submission for spelling and correct logistical information.

We will continue to list, free of charge, upcoming events by out-of-town performers.

The newsletter update goes out the first of each month, with submissions due by the 25th of the previous month.  Please send your submissions (to dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com)

Inclusion in the newsletter does not signify a recommendation or endorsement by the Network.

We do not post events previous to the date of the newsletter.

If you have any questions about our listing policy, please contact us at dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com or through our website www.dccabaretnetwork.org

POLICY REGARDING EDITS TO SUBMISSIONS PUBLISHED IN MULTIPLE EDITIONS OF NEWSLETTER

We gladly publish notices of paid up members in multiple editions of the newsletter. If you have a notice published in the newsletter, and the date of the event will carry the notice into subsequent editions of the newsletter, check your information frequently and verify it is correct.

We understand that sometimes plans and arrangements change. If you have a notice currently published in the newsletter, but need to update or change the information, re-submit your notice IN FULL (exactly as you’d like it to appear in the newsletter), including the changes, to dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com.  In a separate paragraph, specifically point out the changes that you made.  We will cut/paste your updated notice into the newsletter, calling attention to the changes made. If you have a notice published in the newsletter, and the date of the event will carry the notice into subsequent editions of the newsletter, and we do not receive a new/complete submission (as stated above) with changes specifically pointed out, your notice will appear exactly as before.
