SINGER-SONGWRITER JON CARROLL RELEASES "LOVE RETURNS"
Here’s what cdbaby.com has to say “Jon Carroll's first solo release in over
a decade, after a long and artistically rich career as a songwriter, sideman
to-the-stars, composer, singer, multi-instrumentalist and performer, Jon
blooms here with a collection of songs ranging from the highly rollicking to
the poignantly reckoning. Since his early days of national notoriety with
the Grammy-Award winning Starland Vocal Band (Afternoon Delight) he has
wowed audiences near and far with his exciting and energetic keyboard,
guitar and vocal prowess behind a league of renowned artists that includes
Mary Chapin Carpenter, Rodney Crowell, Dixie Chicks and many others. His
songs have been recorded by Linda Ronstadt, Tom Jones and Kenny Rogers to
name a few. He is a sought-after player/producer and this collection of
tunes is a popping yet intimate offering of Jon's many sides that will have

(Press Release)

Erv Raible, Executive Director/Artistic Director, takes great pride in

Repertory Theater, including the recently opened New Theater.
The Fifth Annual Cabaret Conference At Yale University will be held July 27
- August 5, 2006, and is an internationally focused, nine-day teaching
program that offers an intensive look at the art of cabaret performance
technique, and trains professionals for the live entertainment industry. The
Great American Songbook will be addressed and promoted in its entirety, from
its origins in the late 19th century through the classic pop standards of
the 1930s and 40s to today’s contemporary cabaret, musical theater, jazz,

structure, act writing, material research, and comedic development, to
musical director and director relations, arranging, orchestration,
composer/lyricist relations, and image consultation.  Examine the final
stages of act presentation through club relations, marketing, press and
public relations, to the technical language of light and sound,
representation, booking, management and personal networking; with an
emphasis on integration into the international live entertainment community.

Public performances will allow the students to observe first-hand the
performance techniques of professionals in the industry, while continuing to
study those of their peers on a daily performance basis.  At the Cabaret
Conference Curtain Call the students will perform, demonstrating what they
have accomplished in their nine days at the Cabaret Conference at Yale

SEEKING VENUE INFORMATION
Support your fellow cabaret lovers and performers! We are formulating a list
of cabaret venues. If you have information about a great cabaret space (a
church, restaurant, community center, theatre space, etc), let us know! If
possible, please include name of site, address, phone, contact name and
details of what makes it a great spot for cabaret performance. Please email
the information to membership@dccabaretnetwork.org or write to DC Cabaret
Network, P.O. Box 6259, Washington, DC 20015-0259.

DC CABARET NETWORK NOTES AND POLICIES

POLICY REGARDING SUMBISSION OF NOTICES
The DC Cabaret Network is a small organization run on a 100% volunteer
basis.  We do the best we can with the resources and information we have. It
is our policy to include, to the best of our ability, all cabaret related
notices of our paid up members. Submission, however, does not guarantee
inclusion in the newsletter. Although we always do the best we can to
include the cabaret related notices of paid up members, realities such as
mis-delivered email or the timing of submissions may affect what gets
published in a particular edition.

Your music related submissions must be made to:
dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com.

We reserve the right to edit, and determine the inclusion of, all
submissions.

It is the responsibility of the person submitting the information to proof
read the submission for spelling and correct logistical information.

We will continue to list, free of charge, upcoming events by out-of-town
performers.

The newsletter update goes out on every other Wednesday. Please send your
submissions (to dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com) no later than the Sunday
before those Wednesdays (preferably sooner).

Inclusion in the newsletter does not signify a recommendation or endorsement
by the Network.

We do not post events previous to the date of the newsletter.

We do not post notices for events we know to be sold out.

If you have any questions about our listing policy, please contact us at
dccabaretnetowork@hotmail.com or through our website
www.dccabaretnetowork.org.

POLICY REGARDING EDITS TO SUBMISSIONS PUBLISHED IN MULTIPLE EDITIONS OF
NEWSLETTER
We gladly publish notices of paid up members in multiple editions of the
newsletter. If you have a notice published in the newsletter, and the date
of the event will carry the notice into subsequent editions of the
newsletter, check your information frequently and verify it is correct.

We understand that sometimes plans and arrangements change. If you have a
notice currently published in the newsletter, but need to update or change
the information, re-submit your notice IN FULL (exactly as you’d like it to
appear in the newsletter), including the changes, to
dccabaretnetwork@hotmail.com.  In a separate paragraph, specifically point
out the changes that you made.  We will cut/paste your updated notice into
the newsletter, calling attention to the changes made.

If you have a notice published in the newsletter, and the date of the event
will carry the notice into subsequent editions of the newsletter, and we do
not receive a new/complete submission (as stated above) with changes
specifically pointed out, your notice will appear exactly as before.
